AEE 100: Top 100 Most Used Phrases in English Conversation

big deal: when you don't think that what someone has said or done is important or special
ex: "I ran five miles this morning." "Big deal! I ran ten."

bellhop(n.): a young man who carries bags, takes messages etc in a hotel.

figure out:
①to understand or solve something.
ex:It takes most people some time to figure out new software.

②to calculate an amount.
ex: It is difficult to access funding before the elements of an outline business plan have been figured out.


Most Used Phrases in English Conversation
Situation 1: At a Hotel:
①Would you like a hand?: means Do you need a help?


②Enjoy your stay with us.: means Wish you a pleasant stay here.


Situation 2: How to Introduce Yourself to an American in Your Home Country:
①How do you like Japan so far? : = up to now

②I’m having a blast.: have a blast and have a good time are the same meaning.
Blast itself is "Gale, explosion, public criticism" means.
But now young people are used to describe a wonderful, stimulating party, activity or experience.


In the podcast, I learned some of the most commonly used English conversation phrases, some phrases are very colloquial, if according to the translation will not understand its meaning.
